GMA Garnet Group’s latest upgraded Garnet Reprocessing & Recycling Plant on the new site in Aulla-Pallerone, Italy was officially opened on 4th June 2010. The plant was previously located in Follo, La Spezia. Over 250 invited guests as well as many strategic business partners from Italy and all over Europe, the United States, Middle East and Australia attended the opening ceremony. Mr. Piero Raciti, Managing Partner of MedLink, a partner company in Aulla, opened the proceedings speaking of his dream of building this facility, having finally come true. This was followed by an address by Tiziano Cher, the Group’s International Product Manager who welcomed the many guests, customers and strategic allegiance partners and then introduced Torsten Ketelsen, GMA Garnet Group Managing Director who acknowledged the many people who worked with dedication and ground braking innovative spirit to build the Group’s yet most sophisticated Industrial Garnet Reprocessing and Recycling plant, building on technology and experience gained in over 15 years of recycling of used garnet.
In accordance with tradition and customs in Italy for major projects, the official opening was preceded by an elaborate benedictation ceremony performed by the Priest of Aulla. The new plant has a warehouse capacity of 3000 m², a production area of 1000m² and a storage area of 1000m2 for used garnet coming from sandblast and waterjet applications. The plant will reprocess 15,000 tonnes of used garnet per year and has the capacity to upgrade production in line with demand. State-of-the-art drying, processing, screening and packaging technology and equipment result in a seamless process from waste garnet receival to the packaged finished GMR Garnet product that meets the stringent in-house and external quality control requirements. The plant produces high quality GMR Garnet product grades for all waterjet and most sandblast applications, including precision ultrafine grades for high-tech uses.
This nature protected Marine Area, where sea and land combine to form a unique and evocative area, comprises five romantic villages of; Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso built on the cliffs facing the sea.
