GMA Garnet 200 mesh gained approval as the preferred abrasive for high pressure waterjet cutting at Premium Aerotec in Germany. The waterjet division at Premium Aerotec has been cutting titanium for many years and is in constant search for better cutting edge and to optimise the alignment of the cutting head while passing a smaller abrasive material through the mixing chamber. Improved quality of the cutting edge reduces roughness and prevents expensive material wastage. |

An accurate waterjet is characterised by a large number of process parameters, which include the inner diameter of the orifice, impact angle and the focusing tube diameter. At times, low abrasive content will allow air to push through the abrasive, causing a bubbling effect in the abrasive delivery hose. Therefore, optimising the process parameters involves a lot of challenging efforts. Waterjet professionals at Premium Aerotec started research in adjusting the cutting head and to optimise the abrasive flow ratio to GMA Garnet 200 Mesh since 2008 and results were rated as excellent. Any type of material, from glass to stone and steel to plastic can be cut by GMA Garnet 200 Mesh, leaving an excellent surface without further finishing. Premium Aerotec is one of the leading suppliers worldwide for structures and manufacturing systems for aircraft construction. The company specialises in the design and production of large and small, complex contoured aerospace assemblies. |
